The Hopkins
Raspberry Festival reflects the very nature of the community
itself. Families, children, singles, and senior residents.
There are activities designed with one and all in mind.

Hosted by the
reigning Senior Ambassadors -
this trip will depart Maetzold Field at 10:00 am.
You will travel in comfort to the Mississippi River - where you
will cruise the river, listen to an historical narration, and
enjoy a
"build your own deli sandwich" buffet.
Then, relax and enjoy the scenery -
or dance to the sounds of the Barbary Coast Dixieland Band.
Bus will return you safely to Hopkins at 2:30 pm.

How do I become a Senior Ambassador Candidate? |
You must be at least 55 years old
Be a United States citizen
Be a resident, employee or volunteer in Hopkins or School
District #270
You do not have a spouse who is a current candidate
You have not run more than two times previously
Individuals may choose to run themselves, or be nominated by a
group,
church or organization

Hopkins St. Patricks Day
Parade
Aquatennial Torchlight & Grand Day Parades

Junior, Royalty, and Senior Coronations
You may attend additional parades and Festival activities
as you like. |

Are there financial details I should know? |
Yes. Should
you be chosen, you will receive, from the Festival:
Wardrobe allowance not to exceed ( $ 500 in 2001 )
Ambassadors will keep their crown, silk
flowers, scepter & officer’s hat.
If an Ambassador competes as Aquatennial royalty,
additional wardrobe funds may be requested
Seniors are responsible for their own
transportation to and from events
Srs. are responsible for their own expenses at
events including lodging, food, gas, etc.
Cold weather apparel is the responsibility of the Srs. themselves.
Upon completion of their reign,
each (of two) ambassador will receive an honorarium for
their service. |
