HOPKINS RASPBERRY FESTIVAL

Think you know the Festival

The Hopkins Raspberry Festival is Minnesota's oldest continuous summer celebration.  The first time parade units made their way down Mainstreet, FDR was President, a loaf of bread sold for 8 cents, gasoline was 19 cents a gallon and Bette Davis won the Oscar for Dangerous.  Participation has swelled from 20,000 to 100,000 people who come out to celebrate the juicy delicious RASPBERRY.

Early festivals included free raspberries and ice cream, pie eating contests, band competitions and races in the park. Many Hopkins festival-goers remember when real raspberries were tossed from floats instead of today's bubble gum and Tootsie Rolls!
