"We are
very honored to be chosen as grand marshals for the Hopkins
Raspberry Festival" Pat Isaak
"Hopkins
is such a special place. We appreciate Hopkins and want
to give back to the community. We grew up with strong work
ethics and family values, with parents setting examples of
helping others and seeing things through. We wanted to
pass these values on to our three children."
This
is exactly what Pat and Vern have done, through 49 years of
marriage. And they have demonstrated their values to not
only family but community.
Their
list of volunteer projects is extensive
Hopkins Area Family Resource Center, Friends of the
Library, "Buy a Brick"-Mainstreet improvement
project, Hopkins Activity Center, Hopkins Business and Civic
Association, Westwood Lutheran Church, Hopkins Center for the
Arts. Boy Scouts, Campfire Boys and Girls and
Oaks Folks
They
have participated in Raspberry Festival events for many
years. They remember winning an egg toss back in the '60's. They
have called Bingo at Senior Game Day, and, in the '80's helped
to publish a Raspberry Cookbook. Their most recent
involvement was when Vernon was crowned the 1996-97 Senior
King. Vernon and his queen Jeanne Voight were chaufered
to parades by their faithful driver....
wife Pat !
Thank
you Pat and Vernon for what you have given the community of
Hopkins and each one of us
